چکیده

We study the properties of the 0 glueball at finite temperature using SU(3) quenched lattice QCD. We find a significant thermal effects near Tc. We perform the χ fit analyses adopting two Ansätze for the spectral function, i.e., the conventional narrow-peak Ansatz and an advanced Breit-Wigner Ansatz. The latter is an extension of the former, taking account of the appearance of the thermal width at T > 0. We also perform the MEM analysis. These analyses indicate that the thermal effect on the glueball is a significant thermal-width broadening Γ(Tc) ∼ 300 MeV together with a modest reduction in the peak center ∆ω0(Tc) ∼ 100 MeV.

Thermal production of glueballs in high–energy heavy–ion collisions

Within a simple thermal model we estimate possible multiplicities of glueballs in central Au+Au collisions in a broad range of bombarding energies. Assuming the glueball mass in the region 1.5–1.7 GeV, the model predicts on average 0.6–1.5 glueballs per event at the energy GeV. Glueballs are probably the most interesting particles predicted by the QCD but not established experimentally yet. The...

Revisiting glueball wave functions at zero and finite temperature

We study the sizes and thermal properties of glueballs in a three-dimensional compact Abelian gauge model on improved lattice. We predict the radii of ∼ 0.60 and ∼ 1.12 in the units of string tension, or ∼ 0.28 and ∼ 0.52 fm, for the scalar and tensor glueballs, respectively. We perform a well controlled extrapolation of the radii to the continuum limit and observe that our results agree with t...

Glueball properties in anisotropic SU(3) lattice QCD with improved action

The SU(3) lattice QCD Monte Carlo simulations suggest the existence of the finite temperature deconfinement transition at the critical temperature Tc ' 260 MeV at the quenched level . At the quenched level, without involving dynamical quark excitations, the lightest physical excitation is the scalar glueball with the mass 1.5 GeV < ∼mG < ∼ 1.7 GeV , which can be expected to dominate the thermod...

Search for Gluonic Mesons in Gluon Jets

The existence of glueballs, the bound states of two or more gluons, are an early expectation of QCD. Calculations on a space time lattice have confirmed this expectation in the quantitative analysis. Their existence though is still in doubt despite continued efforts over the years. The identification of the glueballs requires the analysis of production and decay properties of the candidate meso...
